Weil is advising athenahealth, Inc., a provider of network-based medical record, revenue cycle, patient engagement, care coordination and population health services for medical groups and health systems, in its pending $5.7 billion sale to Veritas Capital and Evergreen Coast Capital (an affiliate of Elliott Management Corporation) and planned combination with Virence Health (a portfolio company of Veritas Capital), a provider of revenue and workflow management services for hospitals and physician practices. The combined business is expected to operate under the athenahealth brand. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019, subject to athenahealth shareholder approval, regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
