Weil is advising AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. on the financing for its $929 million acquisition of Nordic Cinema Group. This transaction will strengthen AMC’s position as the largest movie theatre operator in the world.
AMC is the largest movie exhibition company in the United States, in Europe and throughout the world with approximately 900 theatres and more than 10,000 screens. Nordic Cinema Group is the largest theatre exhibitor in northern Europe with 68 theatres in seven countries and 50 other associated theatres in which Nordic provides services to. The combination of AMC and Nordic will result in AMC’s operation of 1,000 theatres with 11,000 screens in fifteen countries across the United States and Europe.
