Weil advised AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. on the bank and bond financing for its approximately $1.1 billion acquisition of Carmike Cinemas, Inc. The transaction created the largest chain of movie theatres in the United States and in the world.
AMC is one of the premier entertainment companies in the United States with 5,426 screens. Carmike, America’s hometown theatre circuit, has 2,954 screens, primarily located in mid-size, non-urban communities. Together AMC and Carmike will have over 600 theatre locations in 45 states across the country, including the District of Columbia.
