Weil advised German asset management company Union Asset Management Holding AG in connection with the sale of Union Investment Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A. to Generali CEE Holding B.V.
Established in 1995, Union Investment TFI is the largest independent asset management company operating on the Polish market. Union Investment TFI manages assets worth over 14 billion Polish złoty (€3.3 billion). The company’s product portfolio consists of 30 investment funds both open and closed, asset management solutions, and pension products, such as individual pension accounts and employee pension plans.
Under the agreement signed on October 22, 2018, Generali will acquire 100 percent of the shares in the share capital of Union Investment TFI after the satisfaction of certain conditions.
The Weil team that advised Union Asset Management Holding was led by Warsaw office regulatory practice head and corporate partner Łukasz Gasiński and senior associate Jakub Zagrajek, and included law clerks Krzysztof Jagiełło and Kamil Adamski.
