Weil Adds Complex Commercial Litigation Partner Susan L. Shin in New York

NEW YORK, June 3, 2019: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Susan L. Shin has joined the Firm’s New York office as a partner.  Ms. Shin is part of Weil’s national Complex Commercial Litigation practice.

“Susan is a seasoned trial attorney and commercial litigator, making her a perfect fit for our Complex Commercial Litigation practice, which is known for its trial prowess,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf.  “We are excited to welcome Susan to Weil.”

Weil’s global Litigation Department Co-Chair David Lender commented: “Susan has an exceptional reputation in the market and excellent experience as lead trial counsel in a range of different disputes, mirroring the scope of expertise of Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice.  She will be a significant asset to our clients and our Firm, further deepening our bench of top-notch trial lawyers.”

Ms. Shin joins Weil from Arnold & Porter, where she was a partner in the New York office.  She regularly represents public companies, financial institutions and other corporate clients in litigated disputes and class actions in federal and state courts and arbitrations.  In the past several years, she served as trial counsel in five trials to verdict in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  She also represents institutions and individual clients in government investigations and enforcement proceedings, and has handled complex financial litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.  Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, she was a clerk for The Honorable Raymond J. Dearie, then the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Ms. Shin commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation team, which is renowned for its trial-ready approach.  I look forward to working with the Firm’s many talented lawyers around the world to assist clients in obtaining the best results in high-stakes and complex matters.”
