At The Korean American Association of Greater New York’s (KAAGNY) 60th Anniversary Fundraiser, Weil Complex Commercial Litigation partner Susan Shin received the Community Role Model Award for her leadership in the legal community.

Ms. Shin was presented with the award on Korean American Day, which commemorates the arrival of the first Korean migrant laborers in Hawaii on January 13, 1903.

KAAGNY was founded in 1960 with the goal of advocating for the welfare and rights of diasporic Koreans living in the Greater New York area.

Ms. Shin previously received the 2018 “Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award” from the New York City Bar Association, the 2018 “Trailblazer Honoree” award from the Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York, and was named as one of the “50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business” in 2015 by the Asian American Business Development Center. She is the former President of the Asian American Bar Association of New York.
