Partner Shayla Harlev and associate Melanie Conroy have been recognized with the 2017 Pro Bono Mentor Award from the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project. Ms. Harlev and Ms. Conroy have been honored for their high-quality pro bono representation of indigent immigrants, especially unaccompanied minors as well as for the active mentorship they have provided to others working on Weil’s many active cases with PAIR, a longstanding, valued pro bono partner of the Firm and of the Boston office. Ms. Harlev and Ms. Conroy were presented with the award at the 2017 PAIR Gala Celebration in Boston.
Additionally, Ms. Conroy accepted an award on behalf the more than 300 volunteer attorneys who were on-site at Logan Airport to assist travelers impacted by the January 27 Executive Order barring entry to the United States of refugees, immigrant and nonimmigrant visa holders, and green card holders from seven nations.
