Miriam Buhl, Pro Bono Counsel at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, is among the recipients of the 2012 Louis J. Lefkowitz Public Service Award. The prestigious award, named for Louis J. Lefkowitz, a Fordham Law School alumnus and former Attorney General of the State of New York who embodied the highest standards of public service, is given annually to alumni or friends of Fordham Law School who have made significant contributions to the Law School's public service programs, or whose careers have had a significant impact in public interest law and community service. Ms. Buhl is one of just three individuals to receive the award this year. Also, this is only the second time in the award's 20-year history that a member of a law firm has been so honored.
The award will be given at the 21st Annual Public Interest Awards dinner at Fordham University's Lowenstein Center on March 29, 2012.
