On June 8, 2017, Litigation associate Lara Bach was sworn in as President-elect of the Miami-Dade chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL). The MDFAWL is a volunteer bar association dedicated to the professional advancement of women lawyers and the promotion of women’s rights. It is open to men and women who are members of the Bar in any State, law students, and non-lawyers ‘Affiliates’ approved by the Board of Directors. MDFAWL members advance the science of jurisprudence, promote reform in law, facilitate the administration of justice, uphold the highest standards of integrity, learning, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, and promote women’s rights and the common interests of women lawyers.
Ms. Bach has been a member of the MDFAWL since 2011, serving as Secretary from 2016-2017, Treasurer from 2015-2016, Newsletter Editor from 2014-2015 and a board member from 2012-2014. In addition, in 2015, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers recognized Ms. Bach as one of its annual “Leaders in the Law,” an award bestowed on women who have made significant impacts in their communities. Throughout her career, Ms. Bach has consistently been an active contributor to the community, mentoring young female law students, and representing children and victims of human trafficking pro bono.
