Silicon Valley-based Technology & IP Transactions partner Karen Ballack was named among the leading female attorneys in the tech industry for the third straight year as part of The Recorder’s “2017 Women Leaders in Tech Law.”
Her profile highlighted her work advising Yahoo! Inc. on all the intellectual property and technology aspects of the $4.4B sale of its operating business to Verizon Communications Inc., and included her thoughts on the best leaders she has seen in action, her prospects for women in the tech industry and more.
When asked what advice she had for young lawyers in tech, she said: “To invest the time to learn about, and get a general understanding of, the technologies of your clients and keep on top of trends and activities in your clients' respective industries. This knowledge is invaluable as you develop client relationships.”
All of the honorees were selected by The Recorder editors based on their recent achievements “handling deals that are reshaping the industry, cases that are setting new precedent, and navigating what can best be called a murky regulatory environment.” The winners will be honored at a reception in San Francisco on October 5, 2017.
