Weil Antitrust/Competition partner Jeff White has been named among Global Competition Review’s “40 Under 40” for 2015. The publication profiles young lawyers whose “superior technical skill, practical judgement and commitment to the competition sector mark them out as part of the next generation of leading antitrust practitioners.”
Mr. White’s profile includes his comments on a number of topics, from his most inspiring mentor in the competition arena, to the competition enforcement trends he anticipates developing over the next several years.
Mr. White provides counsel for all aspects of antitrust law, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, as well as government investigations, private litigation, and general counseling. He has experience across a wide range of industries, having advised clients such as AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company, in its $21 billion acquisition of Pharmacyclics, Inc., Providence Equity Partners, in a private nationwide antitrust class action lawsuit, and a major publisher in a high-profile series of private antitrust class actions and government investigations into the pricing of e-books, to name just a few.
When asked about what advice he would give to someone starting out in competition law today, Mr. White said, “[k]now the facts better than anyone on the case and you will make yourself invaluable. Be a team player and be willing to do any task needed to get the job done,” and “[k]eep a sense of humor.”
