Corporate partners James R. Griffin and Glenn D. West have been recognized in D CEO Magazine’s 2018 Dallas 500 publication as two of the Dallas area’s most powerful and influential business leaders in the category of “Law – Mergers & Acquisitions.” This is the first time Mr. Griffin has been honored, and marks the third consecutive year that Mr. West has been honored.
A nationally recognized leader in M&A and corporate governance law, Mr. Griffin represents U.S. and multi-national companies in a broad range of industries in their M&A activities. His experience in M&A and related transactions includes public and private company mergers, stock acquisitions, asset acquisitions, tender offers, divestitures, cross-border transactions, auction transactions, defensive strategies and going-private transactions, including some of the more prominent M&A transactions over the last decade. He also advises boards and special committees on fiduciary duties in the M&A context.
Similarly, Mr. West is one of the region’s most highly regarded M&A and private equity attorneys, having advised on many large and complex transactions at the regional, national and international level. He co-founded Weil’s Dallas office in 1987 and served as the office’s managing partner for two decades, helping to establish Weil’s reputation across the Southwest for handling sophisticated clients’ most critical legal matters.
This special annual publication, produced by D CEO’s editors after nearly a year of research and interviews, honors top businessmen and businesswomen in more than 60 industry categories who have made North Texas a powerful economic force.
Weil’s Dallas office, which is celebrating its 30th year in Texas, brings the best of Wall Street-quality legal services to Dallas and the Southwest. The office is known for its sophisticated transactional, complex commercial litigation, and bankruptcy and restructuring practices, and is also widely recognized for its civic involvement and its extensive pro bono service to the Dallas community.
