Restructuring Department Co-Chair Gary T. Holtzer has been named one of the “Outstanding Restructuring Lawyers” of 2020 by Turnarounds & Workouts. The annual report features 15 lawyers throughout the United States who have worked on the year’s most significant and successful restructurings.
Mr. Holtzer was recognized for his achievements on the debtor and creditor side in an array of high-profile restructurings. He led several of the year’s notable chapter 11 restructurings, including the innovative prepackaged restructuring of Skillsoft Corporation, the global reorganization of Speedcast International Limited and the restructuring of Brooks Brothers Group Inc. In addition, the publication noted Mr. Holtzer’s role advising Insys Therapeutics, Inc., Briggs & Stratton Corporation and Fusion Connect, Inc. in their respective chapter 11 cases, among other major company-side representations.
The report also highlighted Mr. Holtzer’s work advising creditors and stakeholders in complex restructurings. He represented Ambac Assurance UK Limited as financial guarantor in both the Irish scheme of arrangement process and the related chapter 15 case of Ballantyne Re plc, and is advising Johnson & Johnson in Imerys Talc’s chapter 11 case.
Mr. Holtzer is widely recognized among the foremost restructuring attorneys in the country. He was previously named one of the “Outstanding Restructuring Lawyers” of 2017 for leading the landmark chapter 11 case of Westinghouse Electric Company, among other prominent restructurings.
