Weil International Arbitration & Trade partner Eric Ordway was featured in Law360’s inaugural International Arbitration Q&A Series. Mr. Ordway, who has extensive international litigation and arbitration experience and has been recognized by Chambers USA for more than a decade as one of the leading International Arbitration lawyers in the U.S., discussed what attracted him to international arbitration work, the trends he sees affecting the practice of international arbitration, the most challenging case he ever worked on, and advice for attorneys considering a career in international arbitration.
Mr. Ordway said: “My advice would be not to set out to become an international arbitration lawyer. I would say try to become a good trial lawyer by honing your skills at oral argument and cross-examination and do it in litigation. Then, get involved in international arbitration.”
