Eric Hochstadt has been profiled in the New York Law Journal as a Rising Star for 2019, an award given to 31 of the region’s most promising lawyers under 40.
The publication originally named Mr. Hochstadt among the Rising Stars in June, and has now published the profile in recognition of the honor. The article noted Mr. Hochstadt’s accomplishments in “bet the company” class actions and business-to-business litigation, as well as his leadership in the legal community and commitment to pro bono service.
The New York Law Journal highlighted Mr. Hochstadt’s role in securing a complete defense jury verdict for C&S Wholesale Grocers in a multi-hundred million dollar antitrust class action. The profile also noted his current representation of Sanofi in a high-profile antitrust lawsuit brought against a competitor regarding the market for epinephrine auto-injector devices.
The award not only recognizes Mr. Hochstadt’s trial expertise but also his pro bono efforts. The publication noted that he is currently supervising attorneys spearheading a class action challenging the prison conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, as well as seeking medical benefits for a soldier who served in Afghanistan.
The New York Law Journal also included Mr. Hochstadt’s advice for up-and-coming attorneys to seize every opportunity to expand their skillset, distinguish themselves and develop expertise.
