Weil’s global Litigation Department Co-Chair David Lender was profiled among The American Lawyer’s eight Litigators of the Year nationwide for the period covering August 1, 2017 - August 1, 2019. The publication noted that, “[t]he eight litigators being honored […] here have undoubtedly proved their mettle as leaders in the law, coming out on top in groundbreaking cases … [and] deliver[ing] results in high-profile, complex and precedent-setting matters … They have each been established as a force in the industry and a litigator of the highest order.”
In Mr. Lender’s profile on his accomplishments over the past two years, The American Lawyer highlighted his significant victories for C&S Wholesale Grocers in a $800M antitrust class action that he tried to a complete defense verdict and Credit Suisse in a Ninth Circuit ruling that upheld the dismissal of a multibillion-dollar dispute relating to the development of several luxury resorts. He also was noted for winning a bankruptcy court trial that secured the $5.2B sale of Sears to ESL Investments.
