Weil Patent Litigation partner Anne Cappella has been profiled in “2016 Women of Influence” by Silicon Valley Business Journal. She discusses her career path, beginning as an engineer, and how that has helped her succeed as an intellectual property attorney. The profile also detailed Ms. Cappella’s community and civic involvement including leading the Weil pro bono team that helped achieve a landmark settlement ending indeterminate, long-term solitary confinement in all California state prisons.
Ms. Cappella stated that the best advice she ever received was to “treat everyone with respect, no matter who they are.” Her best advice to others is: “Build a support network. I was a fiercely independent person growing up. It was not until I entered the legal field that I understood the power of a strong women's network. We encourage each other, provide advice, develop business together, and promote each other's accomplishments. It is good to have a posse.”
Silicon Valley Business Journal identified 100 women the editors believe have made the biggest impact across all professions and sectors in Silicon Valley.
