Appellate Litigation partner Adam Banks has been named among the 2019 Law Catalysts by the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP). The award recognizes diverse professionals across the legal industry for their exemplary leadership, achievements and commitment to the community. Mr. Banks is among just 15 individuals selected as “change agents” in the law.
Mr. Banks’ record of success includes recent high-profile appellate victories for Morgan Stanley and Marsh & McLennan, as well as for Lehman Brothers and other defendants in an 11-year-long dispute arising out of the $22 billion acquisition of the Archstone REIT, one of the largest REIT going-private transactions in history.
Mr. Banks is also a driving force in Weil’s Diversity & Inclusion program. He is a member of the Firm’s Diversity Committee, a leader of both the Black Attorney Affinity Group and WeilPride, the LGBTQ+ affinity group, and a dedicated mentor to an array of Weil’s minority attorneys, across race, gender and sexual orientation.
The 2019 CUP Law Catalysts were honored at the 10th Annual Lawyers Forum in New York City. The Council of Urban Professionals was founded in 2007 to help develop diverse business and civic leaders.
