Victoria Neave is an associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation practice group in the Dallas office. Her practice focuses on complex business disputes in both state and federal courts throughout the country. Ms. Neave has worked on a variety of cases including, antitrust, securities, bankruptcy-related, breach of contract, and other commercial litigation. Ms. Neave also worked with a team of Weil attorneys, pro bono, to secure increased compensation for a Texas inmate who was wrongfully convicted of and imprisoned for a crime he did not commit.
Ms. Neave currently serves on the Pro Bono Committee of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and was appointed in 2012 as Region XII Representative for the Hispanic National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association.
Prior to joining Weil, Ms. Neave participated in the firm’s public service deferral program where she worked pro bono for one year with two non-profit organizations. During this time, Ms. Neave served as a pro bono civil rights attorney for the largest and oldest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the country where she, among other things, mediated and facilitated meetings with numerous governmental entities including, school districts, police departments, and local municipalities; provided counsel regarding potential litigation on a myriad of legal issues; successfully represented multiple low-income families; and helped design a dropout prevention program which won a $20,000 grant. Additionally, Ms. Neave served on the board of directors for a senior citizen center for low-income elderly residents in North Texas and co-chaired the 2010 Latino Elderly Conference, co-sponsored by Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, that educated over 150 senior citizens on their legal rights.
Ms. Neave graduated from law school magna cum laude. During law school, Ms. Neave received CALI Awards for the highest grades in Wills & Trusts and Local Government. Ms. Neave also achieved great success in oral advocacy competitions and won four First Place awards. She was the First Place Champion in the Prestage Woods Negotiations Competition, Neal Speedon 1L Moot Court Competition, Client- Counseling Competition, and the Henry Doyle 2L/ 3L Moot Court Competition and represented her law school in several regional and national competitions securing numerous additional oral advocacy and brief-writing awards. Ms. Neave also served as Chief Justice of the Board of Advocates.
Ms. Neave is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
