Vaughan Petherbridge is a senior associate in the Corporate Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges' New York office.
Since joining the firm in April 2007, Mr. Petherbridge has worked on a variety of corporate matters, including joint ventures, corporate restructures, mergers, and asset and stock sales, with a particular focus on chapter 11 and out-of-court restructures. Mr. Petherbridge also has experience with securities law disclosure and corporate governance matters. Some of the key transactions that Mr. Petherbridge has been involved in include the restructures of Motors Liquidation Company (formerly known as General Motors Corporation), Washington Mutual, Inc., Extended Stay Hotels, Advanta Corp., Finlay Enterprises and Lenox.
Prior to joining Weil, Mr. Petherbridge acted as in-house counsel at the Australian office of General Motors where he was responsible for local and cross-border transactions and acted as the lead legal advisor to GM Australia's Procurement and Sales and Marketing groups. Mr. Petherbridge has also acted as in-house counsel at PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia and was an associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Freehills, a leading South-East Asian law firm, where he worked on a variety of matters including IPOs, rights offerings and stock and asset acquisitions.
