Theodore E. Tsekerides, a partner based in Weil's New York office, concentrates his practice in product liability, complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation matters.

Mr. Tsekerides' experience includes coordinating national litigation and evaluating a variety of product liability/mass tort matters, including medical devices, over-the-counter pharmaceutical products, breast implants, consumer products, construction equipment and matters alleging groundwater contamination. Mr. Tsekerides is one of the lead attorneys representing Bovis Lend Lease in all aspects of the World Trade Center debris removal litigation, which involves over 10,000 claims brought by plaintiffs alleging respiratory and other injuries as a result of the clean-up of the Ground Zero site. He was also extensively involved in efforts that resulted in passage of legislation in the United States Congress addressing the claims of these plaintiffs and other injured parties, as well as providing legal protections for contractors such as Bovis who assisted in the clean-up. Mr. Tsekerides is also one of the principal attorneys defending Seacor Holdings and its subsidiaries in the multi-district litigation relating to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill pending in federal court in New Orleans.

In addition, Mr. Tsekerides' experience includes representing Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex contractual disputes involving, among other things, high-definition telecast rights, financial instruments such as ISDA Agreements and Indentures, satellite launch contracts, and disputes involving the airworthiness of commercial aircraft and alleged product defects. Mr. Tsekerides is one of the lead attorneys representing ESPN in connection with litigation involving licensing agreements, and is in charge of the day-to-day handling of a multi-million dollar litigation involving indemnification rights relating to lead paint liability.

Mr. Tsekerides also has extensive experience serving as litigation counsel to trustees, debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings involving a wide range of subject matters including energy, arts and antiques, securities and telecommunications. He has represented clients across a broad range of disciplines, including contract disputes, bankruptcy class actions and fiduciary responsibilities. His experience also includes representing insurance carriers in a variety of coverage matters ranging from malicious product tampering to environmental clean-up obligations.

Mr. Tsekerides is the co-author of "Expert Evidence In The Second Circuit," appearing in Scientific Evidence Review, and has written widely on other evidentiary matters concerning the admissibility of expert evidence. He is also co-editor of Weil's Product Liability Monitor, a blog discussing key trends and developments in the product liability/mass tort field (http://product-liability.weil.com).

Mr. Tsekerides is a graduate of Columbia University and received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
