Widely considered one of China’s most prominent M&A lawyers, Steven Xiang has extensive experience in cross-border M&A transactions, private equity investments, joint ventures, as well as general corporate and business advice. For nearly 20 years, he practiced while residing first in New York, subsequently in Hong Kong, and now in Beijing and Shanghai.
Mr. Xiang has represented both buyers and sellers of businesses and assets. His experience is particularly significant in representing clients in cross border M&A transactions and private equity investments relating to Chinese companies and the resolution of issues unique to these types of transactions.
Mr. Xiang also represents a number of multinationals in their joint venture, restructuring and corporate matters in China. His China investment experience covers the following businesses: logistics, chemicals, distribution, shipping, financial services, real estate, paper and packaging, electronics and telecommunications.
His corporate clients include General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Koch Industries, and Lenovo. His private equity clients include Legend Capital, Unitas, China Media Capital, and Providence Equity.
