Stephen Vander Stoep is a Corporate associate located in the Boston office and a member of the firm's Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions practices. Mr. Vander Stoep has extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in public and private domestic and cross-border transactions, including joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and recapitalizations as well as experience advising clients on a broad range of corporate, securities, governance and strategic matters. He has also been involved in a variety of pro bono matters, including the successful appeal of a Rwandan asylee deportation decision.
Prior to joining Weil, Mr. Vander Stoep worked in New York as an associate in the mergers and acquisitions group of Shearman & Sterling. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Vander Stoep spent three years working at E.C.C. Foreign Language Institute in Kyoto, Japan and an additional three years as a Program Officer at the Japan Foundation, an agency of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Toronto.
