Simon Williams is an associate in the firm’s private funds practice in Hong Kong. He focuses primarily on representing investment fund sponsors in structuring and negotiating the terms of private investment vehicles, with a focus on private equity, real estate and hedge funds. He has also counseled institutional investors in connection with their investments in private funds. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Mr. Williams practiced as a funds lawyer in Japan for four years, where he was the lead associate for the Japan funds practice of a Magic Circle firm and worked extensively with John Fadely. Simon is particularly familiar with the Japanese regulatory and tax matters applicable to private funds and fund managers.
Mr. Williams is fluent in English and highly proficient in Japanese.
