S. Scott Parel is a partner in the Corporate Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and maintains an office in both Dallas and New York. Mr. Parel’s practice focuses on complex corporate and transactional matters, primarily representing private equity sponsors in connection with leveraged acquisitions, minority investments, divestitures, joint ventures and restructurings.
Mr. Parel has represented a wide range of private equity clients, including Avista Capital Partners, OMERS Private Equity and Lindsay Goldberg and their portfolio companies. Mr. Parel has also represented many of his private equity clients recently in restructurings and recapitalizations of several of their portfolio companies. Additionally, Mr. Parel represented OMERS in the acquisition of Husky International, which was named the 2012 “Private Equity Deal of the Year” by IFLR.
Mr. Parel is ranked as a leading Corporate/M&A lawyer in Texas by Chambers USA 2012.
Mr. Parel graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, and from Southern Methodist University School of Law, magna cum laude.
