Sarah Stasny is an associate in the Corporate Department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Her practice focuses on public and private mergers and acquisitions, including leveraged buyouts, dispositions of both public and private companies, minority investments, joint ventures and recapitalizations, as well as counseling clients on a variety of corporate governance, securities law, and strategic matters.
Ms. Stasny's recent transactions include: representation of HM Capital Partners in the acquisition of a 70% stake in organic produce supplier Earthbound Farm (July 2009); representation of WL Ross & Company in the acquisition of the mortgage servicing business of Option One Mortgage Corporation, a subsidiary of H&R Block (April 2008); and representation of Financial Industries Corporation, a publicly traded insurance company acquired by Americo Life, Inc. pursuant to a public merger (July 2008).
Ms. Stasny received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was an Articles Editor for the Texas Law Review. She is admitted to the State Bar of Texas.
