Sabrina A. Perelman is an associate in the Intellectual Property & Media and Complex Commercial Litigation practice groups in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. In addition to complex commercial litigation matters, Ms. Perelman’s practice focuses predominantly on intellectual property, including copyright, trademark, false advertising and unfair competition, music licensing, First Amendment and privacy and publicity issues.

Ms. Perelman has been involved in the successful representation and counseling of clients in a wide variety of advertising, trademark and copyright issues involving a range of products and services, including consumer products and services such as over-the-counter drugs, razors, cleaning detergents, food, luxury products, investment banking and equity research, and media and entertainment. Ms. Perelman has worked on advertising matters in federal court as well as in proceedings before the National Advertising Division. Ms. Perelman also worked on the successful defense of eBay in a landmark trademark infringement bench trial and appeal, including obtaining a dismissal of a Lanham Act false advertising claim on remand, and currently represents The Walt Disney Company in a high-profile copyright ownership dispute pending in federal court. Ms. Perelman’s litigation experience ranges from all aspects of discovery to motion practice, bench trials and alternative dispute resolution, and includes experience with preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order proceedings.

Ms. Perelman graduated magna cum laude from New York University and graduated with honors from the Emory University School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Emory Law Journal. Ms. Perelman is the author of “A Step In The Right Direction: How Kansas v. Limon Indicates a Bright Future for Gay Rights under Lawrence v. Texas,” 7 Geo. J. of Gender & L. (2006), and co-authored “Tiffany v. eBay: Second Circuit Rejects Contributory Infringement Claim Against Operator of Online Marketplace,” published in the Summer 2010 issue of the New York State Bar Association’s Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Journal. In 2009, Ms. Perelman served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harold Baer, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
