Robert S. Levine is a Litigation associate in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where his practice focuses on various forms of complex commercial litigation. Mr. Levine has extensive experience representing clients in a broad range of matters involving contracts, fraudulent transfer, insurance, and fiduciary duties, in both state and federal courts as well as in arbitration.
Mr. Levine was part of the Weil trial team that defended an energy company against multi-billion dollar claims of fraudulent transfer, civil conspiracy, and breach of fiduciary duty. He also was part of a team that represented a major insurance company in a number of class action litigations in state and federal court, including a multidistrict litigation.
Mr. Levine also has extensive pro bono experience. He recently completed a four-month externship with the Legal Aid Society in New York, where he served as court-appointed counsel for criminal defendants. In that capacity, Mr. Levine represented hundreds of clients, conducted several trials, and argued numerous motions. Mr. Levine also has handled several pro bono matters on behalf of the firm that involved briefing and arguing appeals in the New York Supreme Court’s Appellate Division.
Mr. Levine received his JD from Boston University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Boston University Law Review. Mr. Levine received a B.A. in Economics from Duke University.
