Robert Frastai is a partner in the Tax department of Weil's New York office. His practice is focused on the tax aspects of the formation and investing activities of domestic and international private equity funds.
He has advised a wide variety of private investment funds including leveraged buyout, secondary, venture capital, infrastructure and real estate opportunity funds and is familiar with the tax needs of their sponsors and investors. Mr. Frastai has extensive experience advising clients with respect to transactions involving partnerships, limited liability companies and other pass-through entities. These transactions include acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, real estate transactions and project finance transactions. In addition to his representation of private investment funds and their sponsors, Mr. Frastai has represented major pension funds and other tax-exempt entities in their domestic and international investment activities.
Mr. Frastai is a graduate of New York University School of Law where he earned a J.D. and LL.M. degree in Taxation. Mr. Frastai is also a graduate of the New York University Stern School of Business where he earned a B.S. in Accounting, cum laude, and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honorary.
