Richard Krasnow is Senior Counsel in the Business Finance & Restructuring department of Weil. He has extensive experience representing borrowers, creditors and asset purchasers in domestic and foreign debt restructurings and bankruptcy reorganizations, statutory creditors’ committees, trustees in liquidations, and has counseled parties in connection with the structuring of non-bankruptcy transactions.
Major matters that Mr. Krasnow has worked on have covered almost every segment of the business landscape, including retailing; real estate; offshore oil servicing; steel companies and coal production; the financial service sector; the music industry; an Olympic committee; telecommunications; railroads, trucking and, in particular, airlines. In the airline arena, Mr. Krasnow has been involved in the Air Atlanta, Eastern, Pan Am, U.S. Airways, United, ATA, Aloha, Midway, Northwest, Delta, PolarAir/Atlas Air, ATA and Southern Air Chapter 11 cases as well as other airline restructuring matters. Other matters where Mr. Krasnow represented either the debtors, creditors, trustees, lenders or asset purchasers, have included R.H. Macy & Co., Edison Brothers Stores, Weiner Stores, Inc., Factory Card Outlet, W.T. Grant Company, John Muir & Co., Drexel Burnham Lambert, Thompson Mckinnon Securities, National Steel, Lion Capital, Johns-Manville, U.S. Home, Singer, Fruit of the Loom, Bridge Information Systems, Daewoo Motor, 360 Networks, MicroAge, American Marine Industries, Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad, Branch Motor, Chicago Central & Pacific Railroad, American Marine Industries, U.S. Lines, LTV Steel, National Steel, Bridge Information Systems, DirecTV Latin America, Pegasus Satellite Communications, and RSL Communications, Ltd.
Mr. Krasnow is a member of the Bars of the State of New York, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Northern District of Texas. Mr. Krasnow is a member of the American Bar Association and its Section of Business Law, the New York State Bar Association and The Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He has lectured at programs sponsored by the Practicing Law Institute, the American Bar Association, Executive Enterprises Inc., the New York University Graduate School of Public Service, the American Conference Institute and the Institute for International Research.
