Since joining Weil’s Budapest office in 2008, Ms. Bana has advised clients on a range of matters in her main practice areas, including media and telecommunications regulatory issues and information technology matters. She regularly liaises with high level governmental and regulatory officials on behalf of major Hungarian and international media and telecommunications clients, and has advised in complex information technology matters.
She also has significant public procurement experience in the infocommunications sector and she represents clients from a range of business sector on general corporate and commercial matters.
With regard to her environmental law practice, Ms. Bana has advised leading property investment companies and private equity firms on a range of environmental law-related issues.
Ms. Bana has been recognized by Legal500 and ranked by Chambers Europe, which says: “Tímea Bana is renowned in the market for her expertise in the media sector, which she is said to know 'inside out.'”
Prior to joining Weil, Ms. Bana was senior legal counsel at Hungarian Television coordinating contractual matters and representing the company in regulatory and international legal matters.
Upon gaining her LL.M. degree in 2003, Ms. Bana worked in a law firm that represented the largest commercial television broadcasting company in Hungary on all operational matters, including broadcasting, merchandising, production, co-production, advertising and program acquisition.
Ms. Bana is fluent in English and proficient in French and Russian, in addition to her native Hungarian.
