Matthew Friedenberg is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice, where he focuses on litigating commercial, business and financial disputes in state and federal court, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums. Mr. Friedenberg has represented banking and lending institutions in proceedings to enforce creditor rights, hedge fund principals in business break-up litigation, and real estate developers, fashion manufacturers, and restaurateurs in the prosecution and defense of contract and tort claims.
Mr. Friedenberg was recognized by Super Lawyers as one of New York City’s Rising Stars for both 2014 and 2015.
Prior to joining Weil, Mr. Friedenberg worked as an associate in the New York office of a prestigious international law firm.
Mr. Friedenberg received his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City in 2011. Mr. Friedenberg served as Senior Editor for the Cardozo Moot Court Honor Society, where his brief on First Amendment jurisprudence won “Best Brief” at a national moot court competition. Mr. Friedenberg received his B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Brandeis University in 2007.
