Larry Gelbfish retired from the partnership in 2020. He was a partner in Weil’s Tax Department and was based in New York. Larry specialized in the taxation of sophisticated financial products, including asset-backed securities, mortgaged-backed securities and derivatives. He had principal responsibility for tax matters relating to the Firm's Structured Finance practice.
Larry’s areas of experience included all the tax aspects of issuing and owning REMIC interests, asset-backed securities, CMOs, CLOs, swaps and other notional contracts, convertible debentures, preferred stock, contingent payment obligations, warrants, options and REITs.
