Prior to joining Weil, Kate was an associate in the restructuring team of a magic circle law firm, where she acted for a variety of stakeholders in major restructurings.
Representative experience includes:
- Advising the co-ordinating committee of creditors on restructuring of a Middle Eastern investment group pursuant to a scheme of arrangement;
- Advising a European manufacturing and financial services group on its restructuring by way of a company voluntary arrangement;
- Advising the steering committee of lenders on the consensual restructuring of an emerging-markets international steel group; and
- Co-ordinating a pan-European and Hong Kong team advising the arrangers of the debtor-in-possession financing for a multinational chemical group in Chapter 11 proceedings.
Kate lectures and writes on a variety of topics, including schemes of arrangement, oil & gas restructurings and market updates. She is a member of the Technical Committee of the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association and an associate member of R3. She speaks fluent French.
