John Fadely
John Fadely represents Asia-based and international sponsors in the formation of private equity funds, real estate funds and infrastructure funds, as well as forming joint venture investment vehicles, co-investment vehicles and carried interest plans, and structuring management arrangements among fund principals. Mr. Fadely has also advised clients on the establishment and structuring of alternative asset management businesses and related fundraising issues, including both well-established and first-time fund sponsors, and on the restructuring of distressed funds platforms. He has extensive experience in forming China-focused (both offshore and RMB) funds, funds investing in Japan and pan-Asia funds. Mr. Fadely also represents select institutional investors in their investments in private funds, and has formed sizable co-investment vehicles for such investors with fund sponsors.

Mr. Fadely has practiced for 15 years, primarily in Hong Kong and Tokyo, and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese (including for the drafting of legal documents) and highly proficient in Japanese. He is ranked in Band One for Investment Funds by Chambers Asia and as a Leading Individual for Investment Funds by Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and leads an Asia funds team ranked in Tier One by IFLR1000.
