Jaroslaw Kolkowski is a legal advisor admitted to practice in Poland and a partner in Weil’s litigation and dispute resolution department.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw in 2001 and also holds a certificate from the Post-Graduate Tax Law College at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz. He joined Weil in 2000 and qualified as a legal advisor in 2005.
Jaroslaw specialises in litigation, specifically in civil and administrative proceedings as well as proceedings before administrative courts (including with respect to civil and corporate law, energy, liquid fuels and railway transport). He also has broad experience in representing clients in commercial arbitration proceedings both in Poland and abroad. Jaroslaw has advised on some of the largest disputes brought before administrative courts and has represented a number of clients in some of the higher profile civil litigations in Poland.
His recent experience includes:
- Invalda and other shareholders of the Tiltra Group companies in their $265 million sale of shares in the Tiltra Group companies to Trakcja Polska in exchange for cash and shares and bonds of Trakcja Polska.
- Polskie Koleje Panstwowe (PKP) in a lawsuit filed with the Court of Arbitration at the National Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. The suit claimed that agreements with Media Rail governing certain media and advertising activities had been lawfully terminated and called for the removal of related marketing materials from PKP stations and premises.
