He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (2006), also completing a course in English and European law organised by the British Centre for English and European Legal Studies at the University of Warsaw, in co-operation with the University of Cambridge, and a course in US law at the Center for American Law Studies co-organised by the University of Warsaw and the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He also studied British and European law at the London School of Economics (2004/2005). In 2012, he graduated from the New York University School of Law with an LL.M. degree, specialising in corporate law. He also qualified as a legal advisor in 2012. Prior to joining Weil in 2006, Jakub worked in the Warsaw office of an international law firm.
A specialist in corporate law, M&A transactions, capital markets law and energy law, he has advised on some of the largest and most prestigious M&A and capital markets transactions on the Polish market, specifically on initial and secondary public offerings (including privatisation transactions) and acquisitions of public companies. He has advised Polish and international issuers of securities, the Ministry of the State Treasury, investment firms and private equity funds.
One of the leading legal rankings, IFLR1000, in its 2015 and 2016 editions, has singled out Jakub as one of the few “Rising Stars” in equity capital markets and M&A.
