Since joining Weil’s Budapest office in 2008, Ms. Katona has advised a variety of leading Hungarian and international companies across her practice areas. She has particular experience in general corporate matters and advising clients concerning complex multi-phase group restructurings.
In the area of energy law, Ms. Katona has experience advising clients in the electricity sector on a wide range of end-user electricity transactions as well as power generation licensing and development. She has advised investors on incentive schemes in relation to renewable, waste-based and cogeneration power plant projects. As part of her gas industry experience, Ms. Katona has counseled clients on licensing and other regulatory matters, including gas-fired power plant developments. She has also advised clients regarding natural gas sales agreements and natural gas processing agreements. She has advised clients on nuclear energy licensing matters.
In the area of mergers and acquisitions, Ms. Katona has participated in the coordination and conduction of legal due diligence reviews, the drafting and negotiation of transaction documents, as well as the drafting and negotiation of complex shareholders’ agreements.
Ms. Katona is fluent in English in addition to her native Hungarian.
