Weil, Gotshal & Manges partner Marcia Goldstein spoke about her experiences as a bankruptcy lawyer in an interview on Bloomberg Television that was aired on Friday, April 27, 2012.

In the interview, Ms. Goldstein discussed ‘learning the trade from’ and being mentored by Harvey Miller, who developed Weil’s Business Finance & Restructuring Department. She was also fortunate, she said, to begin practicing at a time when the Bankruptcy Code was being changed, which was a great opportunity to develop expertise in new areas. Drawing on her more than 30 years’ experience, Ms. Goldstein said it was vital to always be prepared for the unexpected, especially when representing large multinational companies seeking chapter 11 protection.

Ms. Goldstein is the chair of Weil’s global Business Finance and Restructuring Department, widely regarded as the best in its field, and has practiced in all areas of domestic and international debt restructuring, as well as crisis management and corporate governance. She has also lectured on bankruptcy law at Yale Law School, Columbia Law School, and Cornell Law School.

The interview, with Gigi Stone, was aired as part of Bloomberg Television’s “Mr. & Mrs. Fix It” series.
