Weil Patent Litigation partner Sonal Mehta was named one of 50 "Fast Track" lawyers in California for 2012 by
The Recorder. The awards, which were announced yesterday, recognize California attorneys whose early accomplishments indicate they are the top lawyers and leaders of the future.
Based in Weil's Silicon Valley office, Ms. Mehta has been involved in a number of high-stakes patent litigation matters at the district court level, International Trade Commission and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and involving a wide range of technologies. She also teaches patent litigation at UC Berkeley School of Law, her alma mater, and has given presentations on patent litigation at Federal Judicial Center workshops for federal district and magistrate judges.
The Recorder's 50 "Fast Track" lawyers are chosen based on the nominees' accomplishments as leaders, lawyers and community members in their first ten years out of law school, specifically: leadership positions within the firm or practice community, significant responsibility in high-stakes matters, and extensive community involvement. The winners will be honored at an awards luncheon on June 5; US Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal, of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, will deliver the keynote address at the luncheon.
