John Fadely, head of the Private Funds practice for Asia at Weil, was quoted by
The Deal in an article on the growth of local private equity firms in emerging markets, including China, Indonesia, South Africa, and Brazil. Known as indigenous private equity firms, these groups are playing increasingly larger roles in important arenas for capital formation and deployment. In Asia especially, Fadely noted, they are "raising more of the capital and winning a proportionally bigger piece of the growing pie of capital allocations to private equity".
