Recently, Business Finance and Restructuring partner Stephen Karotkin of Weil Gotshal's New York office, was quoted in
The National Law Journal. The article, entitled "Bigger, Faster, Cheaper" deals with large business restructurings under Chapter 11 and the costs associated with those cases. These high profile cases have led to a call for more oversight of the fees being incurred by so-called "fee auditors." "The process provides another set of eyes," said Karotkin, though he believes that "the system is already designed with adequate procedures” to assure fees are reasonable.
