Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP represented General Electric Co. (GE) in connection with its agreement with Aviation Industry Corp (AVIC), a Chinese state-owned aircraft manufacturer, to form a new joint venture company to develop and market integrated avionics systems for commercial aircraft customers. The new joint venture company will be headquartered in China and is expected to launch by mid-2010, subject to regulatory approval.
Weil Gotshal's China team was led by Steve Xiang, head of Weil Gotshal’s Shanghai and Beijing offices, assisted by Suat Eng Seah, Wenfeng Li and Joyce Du. The New York team was led by partners Bill Gutowitz and Charan Sandhu.
