(December 2008, Weil Gotshal News)
Weil Gotshal was recently honored for the second consecutive year by the Anti-Defamation League (“ADL”) as a partner in the 2008 Community of Respect™ program. Organized by the ADL Southwest Region, the program provides the tools and resources to help individuals and organizations fight prejudice, bigotry and discrimination, and to engender respect and appreciation for diversity. Weil Gotshal was the only organization to be named a Community of Respect on both a local and national level, with the local designation being earned by the Houston office. In 2007 Weil Gotshal became the first business and the first entity to be awarded this designation both locally and nationally.
Underscoring the firm’s commitment to diversity and respect, Weil Gotshal’s Houston office held several lunchtime programs throughout the year that dealt with diversity and cultural awareness. On a national level, the firm organized Diversity Week, designed to further the appreciation of diversity within the firm as well as the communities where our offices are located around the world.
