NEW YORK (August 13, 2008) – The 2009 edition of The Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms ranked Weil, Gotshal & Manges ninth, marking the sixth straight top ten finish for the firm. The ranking is based on a survey of nearly 19,000 law associates across the country who were asked to rank the top 100 law firms according to prestige.
In practice rankings, The 2009 Vault Guide also once again recognized Weil Gotshal’s
Business Finance & Restructuring Department as the #1 Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights practice in the US. The firm’s
Corporate Department placed in the top ten.
In regional prestige rankings, Weil Gotshal’s
Miami office and three Texas offices –
Austin,
Dallas, and
Houston – placed second overall in their respective regions, while its
Silicon Valley office placed eighth in Vault’s Northern California region and the
New York office ranked ninth.
The firm also ranked highly in the guide’s quality-of-life measurements, placing in the top ten for compensation, while garnering top 20 finishes in the “Best to Work For,” “
Formal Training,” and “Best in
Diversity” categories.
