(January 11, 2008, Weil Gotshal Press Release)
The Frankfurt office of the international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP advised Lone Star in its capacity as majority shareholder of COREALCREDIT BANK AG in the squeeze-out of the minority shareholders resolved in an extraordinary general meeting on January 4, 2008.
Weil, Gotshal & Manges had also advised Lone Star on the acquisition of COREALCREDIT BANK AG, then operating under Allgemeine Hypothekenbank Rheinboden AG, from trade union holding BGAG in 2005, marking the first time that a troubled German bank would be restructured by a financial investor and not by the banking industry itself. COREALCREDIT BANK AG is a specialist German bank focusing on commercial real estate in its core market Germany.
The advisory team of Weil, Gotshal & Manges was led by the Frankfurt corporate partners Uwe Hartmann and Heiner Drüeke with assistance from Frankfurt corporate associates Christian Eggert and Hendrik Schmiady.
