Weil Gotshal Elects Twenty to Partnership and Appoints Five as Counsel

(November 21, 2006, Weil Gotshal Press Release)

New York, November 21, 2006 - Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, the leading international law firm, announced today the election of twenty new partners, in addition to the appointment of five attorneys to the position of counsel, effective January 1, 2007. Those elected were drawn from across Weil Gotshal’s twenty-office system, including most major US offices as well as Europe and Asia. Thirteen major practice areas were represented.

In its announcement, Weil Gotshal stated that, for the first time, the new partnership class was comprised of a majority of women. Further, the firm stated, this election was also marked by the creation of a new partnership category, "flex-time partner," which was created for new partners making a long-term career choice to work on a flexible schedule. Among the newly elected partners were included two flex-time partners. (The firm noted, in this regard, that the flex-time option is available to both men and women entering the partnership).
