Nadya Salcedo

Nadya Salcedo is an associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation practice in Weil’s New York office. Ms. Salcedo focuses her practice on major complex cases, including commercial disputes and matters involving securities, antitrust, and white collar issues. She also has experience working on sophisticated bankruptcy-related cases, as well as matters involving the False Claims Act.

Ms. Salcedo has assisted with the representation of clients in a broad variety of cases in federal and state trial and appellate courts. Recently, she has played an extensive role on the Weil team representing Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in its Chapter 11 proceeding, including the resolution of its significant portfolio of derivatives contracts. Ms. Salcedo also helped represent American Airlines in antitrust litigation and trial proceedings brought against the two largest global distribution systems, which settled on extremely favorable terms for American. She also has authored substantial portions of an amicus brief before the Supreme Court regarding criminal procedural issues. On these matters, Ms. Salcedo oversaw or participated in a range of projects during every phase of litigation, including authoring briefs, motions and research memoranda, preparing and vetting expert reports, preparing and taking depositions, and managing associate teams.

Ms. Salcedo received her J.D. from New York University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Salcedo student clerked for the Hon. Judge Nicholas Garaufis of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, served as a Mediation Intern for New York City’s Office of Administrative Trials and Appeals, and served as production editor of the Journal of International Law and Politics. After graduating from Rice University with a BA in Political Science, Ms. Salcedo worked for the Legal Aid Society, where she served as an advocate in public assistance, housing, and World Trade Center disaster benefits matters. Ms. Salcedo currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the African Services Committee. She is fluent in Spanish.
