Michael Weisser is a partner in the New York office focusing on Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr. Weisser has a diverse corporate practice with an emphasis on representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in connection with acquisitions, dispositions and general corporate matters. He has extensive experience with leveraged buyouts, going private transactions and minority investments and frequently counsels clients on a variety of securities law, corporate governance and strategic matters.

Mr. Weisser has represented many of the leading private equity funds in transactions in the United States and across the world and represents American Securities, CVC, Lindsay Goldberg, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board and Providence Equity Partners and their portfolio companies.

Recent transactions include the acquisitions of Convergex, Presidio, Specialty Care, Virtual Radiologic, Nighthawk Radiology, Arizona Chemical, Earthbound Farms, Trygg Pharma/Epax Holdings, Remedial Construction, Philips Services, CDW, Asurion and The Brock Group, the divestitures of Keystone Foods and Bresnan Communications, the business combinations of Swett & Crawford/Cooper Gay and eTelecare Global/Stream Global and minority investments in Hulu and Brightstar.

In 2011 Mr. Weisser was selected by Investment Dealers' Digest (IDD) for its annual "40 Under 40" list of the top forty up-and-coming professionals in the finance industry. Mr. Weisser was recognized by Chambers USA 2010-2011 - America's Leading Lawyers for Business as a leader in the field of private equity nationwide. He was also named "Dealmaker of the Week" by American Lawyer Media in June 2010 for his representation of Bresnan Communications in its $1.36 billion sale to Cablevision and of Keystone Foods in its $1.26 billion sale to Marfrig Alimentos. Mr. Weisser is the Co-Editor of the firm's Private Equity Alert and Co-Editor of the firm's annual Going Private Study. In addition, Mr. Weisser frequently writes articles for various publications on cutting edge legal developments, including a recent article in The New York Times on private equity deal terms in the post-credit crisis environment.
