Michael Szlamkowicz is an associate in the firm’s Private Equity practice and is based in New York. He has a diverse transactional and corporate counseling practice with an emphasis on representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in connection with acquisitions and investments, divestitures, financings and restructurings, including in connection with distressed companies or assets. Mr. Szlamkowicz also advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters, including securities laws, corporate governance issues and other strategic considerations.
Mr. Szlamkowicz has represented a wide range of clients in a variety of industries, including Providence Equity Partners, Lindsay Goldberg, NYMEX Holdings, American Capital and Israel Corporation.
Mr. Szlamkowicz received his LL.B. and D.E.S.S. degrees from University of Montreal in 2003 and 2004, respectively, and his B.Comm. from McGill University in 1998. He is admitted to practice in New York (2009) and Quebec (2004).
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Szlamkowicz practiced law in the Montreal office of Stikeman Elliott LLP from 2004 through 2007. In addition, Mr. Szlamkowicz was a national account executive with Purolator Courier from 1998 to 2001.
